March 14, 2020

It is with regret that we need to inform you of the cancellation of the symposium in Vancouver on Sunday, March 22nd, 2020.  After a team meeting and review of available findings and public health advisories, the organizers feel there is no other choice than to cancel the conference.  Our sincerest apologies that this is the case in these unprecedented times.

Although government health experts continue to say the risk of COVID-19 infection is low here in BC, crossing the border for our faculty appears questionable at this time.  Recommendations from the BC Health authority advise anyone entering Canada should self isolate for 14 days.  Impossible for our Pacific University faculty to do prior to the conference and the school may require quarantine of our instructors upon return to the US which will limit their ability to perform duties.

Throughout the last 24 hours, we have listened to the concerns of many of our attendees.  The organizers endeavor to present a world class specialty contact lens event.  The last thing we desire to do is have supporters of this educational symposia feel anxiety prior to, during or after the symposia.

We are issuing full refunds and you should receive an email in the next 24 – 72 hours to confirm your refund has been issued. At that point, it will take 5 to 7 banking days for funds to be available for use. If you have questions, please contact our team at

We would like to thank you for your interest and support of this meeting.  We sincerely apologize for the cancellation of the symposium.  We are hoping to be able to present the program later this year and hope you will join us at that time.

Sincerely, Randy Kojima, FAAO, FBCLA, FSLS, FIAO
